Candle on the Water

This morning we talked about en experiment having a hypothesis. A hypothesis is making a prediction. Taking a reasonable guess.

We talked about a hypothesis to do with a glass over a candle in water.

  1. I learnt that when Mr Haddock lit the match and put the cup on top the water got suced up and raised the light and it went out.The cup was raised and the water gushed out of the cup.🀯

  2. Faith put two cups of water into a clear bowl, then put yellow food colouring in it (so we can see better), and Mr Haddock brought out a candle, a match and a clear cup. he put the candle in the middle of the bowl, and lit it, then Faith put the cup on top. I thought the water was going to get pushed out of the cup, but instead, the candle blew out then the water came rushing in! Faith lifted the cup and the water came rushing like an eruption from a volcano!

  8. Experiment experiment with a bowl water candle and food died first what we did it we got a microwavable go and put two cups of water in in the microwavable bowl and then we added the cut on into the bottle of water at did nothing so then we decided to take it out and put some food dye and we put yellow food dye and let it mix itself it took about 5 minutes then we got our candle and put it on the water and let it on fire and then put the candle on the water carefully it was floating and we gave up five minutes to keep going and warm up the little on top of the candle then we we put the car on top and as you all know the fire needs air so it's right it sucked up all the water into the cup and was no water in the vault it was all in the the candle went out and the candle went out and we left the car up in smoke weed out to the smoker and the smoke lonely of and all the plaza to evacuate to assembly point and then we ask Mrs vs there was that us that started that smoke like she's like no that was just a drill sorry now do your role and count your children and to we had to be in a line with two people to then we all went back to the class and did it again but we hadn't who died and I couldn't believe my eyes I just almost man it was amazing thank you for all of them out that science experiment was the best one of them thanks

  17. Yesterday te whare Ruru did a science experiment. We needed a glass bowl,a glass cup,a wax candle, water and food dye we used yellow dye.First you put two cups of water into the bowl. Then you see if the candle floats if it floats you light the candle on fire and put the cup on top of the candle and it sucks up all the water like a vacuom into the cup.when you lift up the cup all the water rushs out.
