Taku Wairua #1 - Jessie Smith - BMX World Champ visits

Wow! 

So cool to have Jessie Smith, BMX World Champion for under 19s visit us on the first Taku Wairua session. 

We learnt about the four pillars of the programme - belonging, goal setting, self discovery and Citizenship.

  4. on tuesday jessie smith came to our school.to see is a world champ bmx rider she told us about bmx we watched the vidio. she told us about her life in the vidio she started when she was 4.she was in a race and it went wrong and she fell off then she was in hospibil for a week she rupshid her splen and bad concushtion then she just steped back for a bit.from zac

On Tuesday We had Toaku wirua and Jessie Smith came to our school.She is a world champion bmx racer.We got pictures with her and got to where her gold medal and her rainbow jersy.We watched a video about her.Then everyone had a picture with her.She went to an olimpics in tokyo and had a big crash and went to hospital for a week.She said that she had a really good concushion.She said that she had six gold medals.She had been to a lot of world champs and traveled the world for bmx.She said that she stared bmx when she was four years old.By Campbell

  8. on tuesday 3rd of August Jessie smith came to our school. She told as about her life she started BMX riding when she was only 4 years old. She said as soon as she got on the bike she fell in love will the Sport. Ever since she was 4 years old she loved racing , she also showed as a video. in the video she had a big crash she rupured her spleen and had a really bad. Concussion she was in the hospital for along time after the video she told as that she won the rainbow jersey and a golden meadel after that we had. Photos with jessie i got bto wear the medal it was so cool (Teegan)

Jessie smith was so cool I can't believe that she came to our school I if so happy that she came I got to take a photo with jessie and i got to wear her rainbow top and her really shiny gold mettle and it was so smooth. me and jessie had a arm wrestle she won because she is so strong. in her video she had fall off her BMX bike and she had a concussion and she ruptured her spleen and that did not go well but the rest was so fun we did a activity that we had to remember about Jessie smith and we had to glue a photo of Jessie on her bike.🏍️

  10. Juicy Smith was under 19s world champion.She won a rainbow jacket and a gold metal.But in the world champion she ruptured her spleen and she had a concussion.

  14. It was amazing when we walked into the class and saw a professional bmx rider.She was the under 19 world champion
    For BMX she got a gold medal and a rainbow jacket.

  16. On Tuesday the 3rd of August. We had a special guest called Jessie Smith. she told us all about her childhood and where she grew up in. grew up in Gizzy/Gizbond. Two sisters and one brother she is the youngest out of all of then. She started riding a BMX bike when she was only four years old. In 2019 at the end of the year in october there was a olympics texts event held in tokyo.

  17. On Tuesday the 3rd of August Jessie Smith Came to Tatuanui School. Jessie is a junior BMX world Champion rider.In 2019 at the end of the year in October there was a olympic test event held in tokyo. She had a few practice days and felling good.It came to the race day. She second guested her self for a second and it all went wrong. Jessie put her self in hospital for a week and ruptured her spleen.ANd then ended up with a really good concussion.Falling off the bike has put Jessie be hide in her training and her confidence has just dropped.
    Jessie is still struggling with her confidence and self belief.Hope fully in 2024 the paris olympics we will see Jessie Smith on her BMX bike again.
